Last Week's FNNDSC Project Updates

NIRS Team

The NIRS clinical research team had a busy week starting with a continuous monitoring session during a transfusion in the NICU. The team also had the opportunity to meet with one of their NICU Grads for their 2 year follow up with their amazing study psychologist Dr. Queally!

NIRS Engineering Team

The NIRS engineering team did testing of their recently constructed Intra-Operative probe, which is designed for older patients. They are investigating a new probe configuration that could potentially boost the signal twofold. The team also continues to be in contact with their collaborators in Uganda and are on track to make two shipments before the end of January.

Honor/Award Spotlight

Drs. Ivy Lin and Jason Sutin's project “Perioperative cerebrovascular autoregulation monitoring in patients with Moyamoya Syndrome” in collaboration with Drs. Craig McClain and Sol Soriano was funded by the Trailblazer award from the anesthesiology department!

On-site Administrative Support This Week

Gauravi will be onsite this week on Monday, January 11th.

Happier January

Things have certainly not been easy over the last year, and we are still in difficult and uncertain times. This month, we're encouraging everyone to focus on small steps to try to boost happiness - for ourselves and others around us - to spread kindness and hopefully inspire others to do the same.
