Annual Flu Shot
As a reminder, all Boston Children’s W-2 employees, medical staff, research staff, students, and on-site contracted staff must be vaccinated against flu by October 31, 2022.
The flu vaccine clinic in the Patient Entertainment Center (PEC) will be open from September 26 to October 31. Walk-ins are welcome and no appointment is necessary. You can find clinic schedules and other important information on the Flu Central web page.
Unit-based vaccination on our Main Campus and in the satellites will be available by a nurse in your department or floor beginning October 3, 2022. Speak to the nurse manager on your unit or department to find your designated flu vaccination nurse and to coordinate a time for vaccination. Staff who are receiving vaccinations on their units must complete the Vaccination Consent form on the Employee Health Portal, prior to vaccination.
Vaccination will also be available at other sites. More information will be posted to Flu Central as clinics are scheduled.
All staff, including those working remotely, may be vaccinated outside of Boston Children’s (e.g. at your local pharmacy or your doctor’s office). Anyone vaccinated outside of Boston Children’s must send documentation of the vaccination to Occupational Health Services (OHS). Attestation is no longer accepted.
Scheduling Booster Doses
The new Pfizer bivalent booster recommendation applies to those people ages 12 years and older AND who are two months out from the completion of their primary series or their most recent booster.
BCH employees are asked to schedule their booster dose in advance. We will accept walk-ins.
· Employees may schedule by emailing COVIDVACCINERESCHEDULE@childrens.harvard.edu with the following information: name, CH ID#, date of last vaccine dose, and requested appointment date and time.
· Employees may schedule by calling our PLP scheduling line at 617-919-7102.
Please note that receiving the single bivalent mRNA booster replaces all prior booster recommendations for this age group.
*Boston Children’s will offer the Moderna Bivalent COVID-19 booster when available.
