Near-infrared Spectroscopy

What is NIRS

NIRS (near infrared spectroscopy) is a non-invasive optical imaging technique which uses near-infrared light to collect information about brain hemodynamics. Our center utilizes an advanced, innovative adaptation to this technology, called FDNIRS-DCS, which allows us to measure not just oxygen saturation, but also blood flow and oxygen metabolism in the brain.
