New FNNDSC Members

Please welcome Ye Yuan, who joined the FNNDSC last month! Ye Yuan is pursuing his Doctor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering at Xi’an Jiaotong University. He received his Master's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2020 from Southwest University. At the FNNDSC, he works in the Focused Ultrasound Lab of Dr.Okada’s group. His research project will be on a new method to image functional localization of active tissues in the brain by focused ultrasound.

Please welcome Sungmin You! Sungmin You is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Fetal Neonatal Neuroimaging Developmental Science Center (FNNDSC) at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He obtained his Ph.D. (2021) in Biomedical Engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea. During his doctoral studies, he endeavored at applying advanced deep learning techniques on various medical datasets such as for mortality prediction or epilepsy patient monitoring. In FNNDSC, he is focusing on developing state-of-the-art deep learning-based methods for processing and analysis of the fetal brain MRI.

Please welcome FNNDSC Student Intern, Enrique Mondragon Estrada!

Enrique Mondragon Estrada is currently perusing his B.S. in Mechatronics Engineering at the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Mexico. At the university, he has collaborated as a research and teaching assistant. During his internship at the FNNDSC, he will work with Dr. Kiho Im on MRI processing and analysis, quantitative brain structural feature extraction, and deep learning network training to improve fetal brain segmentation and age prediction.

Please welcome FNNDSC Student Intern, Aimé Cristina De la Vega Núñez! At the FNNDSC, she will perform the retrieval and preprocessing of multimodal data (neuroimaging and electrophysiological data) from patients with epilepsy with the goal of building a preprocessed dataset that will be analyzed to identify novel electrophysiological biomarkers of epilepsy and/or other neurological disorders. Aimé is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Mexico. She is passionate about research related to improving the quality of life and the generation of new knowledge and devices that meet this goal.
